How to play

Mine letters by forming words with connected letters in grid. Buy templates and then form words with mined letters to forge them into weapons to be sold.

Click on the single-tile again to de-select it (was following Bookworm's implementation closely but seems like this is more annoying than not)

"The pen is mightier than the sword". What if the pen was the sword?

Was thinking of what if words could be used as a weapon literally,  and then brainstormed a way to 'farm' for letters. Reminded me of how I used to play Bookworm back in the day so thought why not try to reproduce that game's logic?

Notes

  •  Angle between two points: `math.atan2(y1 - y2, x1 - x2) * 180 / math.PI` from the post I keep referring back to
  • `System.Text.Json` installed from NuGet still beats `JsonUtility`
  •  Apparently seeking for matching words from 100k+ list entries by `StartsWith`  isn't that slow, but `Trie` should be used anyway
  • Planned to add 'emojis' and symbols as modifiers to the weapons to sell for extra value
  • Also planned to add some more unique tiles to the bookwork-esque game

Hi! Interesting game idea. I managed to collect a few words and even crafted something=), which felt satisfying. However, the core objective wasn't immediately clear to me. A brief tutorial or perhaps just a concise "how to play" section on the game page would greatly improve the onboarding experience.

From a visual standpoint, I would suggest committing to one style, either fully 2D or fully 3D, for a more cohesive look.

Regarding the gameplay, when generating letters, you might want to introduce some 'assist' to increase the frequency of real-word combinations for the player. The current level of pure randomness can feel a bit overwhelming. You could also try reducing the size of the letter grid to focus the player's attention.
